Emergencies

Home Visits

In most circumstances we feel that the best place for the examination and treatment of your pet is in the clinic where we have a wide range of facilities and expert help. There are circumstances where home visits are necessary and we will try to accommodate requests during normal working hours.

Nurse Clinics

Appointments are available with our nursing staff for a variety of services including weight control, dressing changes, nail clips and advice. Our nurses can advise on flea and worm prevention and are happy to administer wormers to your pet at no extra charge.

Operations

At Beaumont we have 2 fully equipped operating theatres where surgical procedures take place.

We operate from Monday to Friday. Patients are admitted from 8.30am to 9.00am and should have been starved overnight (excluding Rabbits). Most patients will return home the same day. Pre-operative health checks consisting of blood tests are available to all cases and are strongly recommended for patients older than 7. Those patients undergoing general anaesthesia will be closely monitored by our trained nursing staff. We use a carefully chosen range of anaesthetic drugs and pain killers to make surgery as safe as possible.

Repeat Prescriptions

Please give 24 hours notice for repeat prescriptions of drugs and food. In accordance with medicines regulations, all pets receiving prescription drugs need to be regularly examined by a Veterinary Surgeon.

Fees

Fees are payable at the time of consultation, on collection after surgery or when collecting prescriptions. We are able to accept most credit and debit cards. We will always try to give an estimate of costs for procedures or courses of treatment. Please remember that estimates can only be approximate as we are unable to predict precisely how a pet’s medical condition will progress.
